Conformation & Club Championships
The NSDTRC (USA) had its own conformation program for the awarding of club championships for many years. The club believes strongly that the Toller should maintain those qualities for which it was originally bred so in addition to accumulating 15 points in the breed ring, the dogs must pass a basic field test to become NSDTRC (USA) Champions.

From the NSDTRC (USA) Championship Rules:
All dogs shall be required to pass a basic hunting test. This may be at an NSDTRC (USA) event or one sponsored by any recognized field organization whose written field test standard meets the NSDTRC (USA) minimal requirements of
- Two land retrieves of birds approximately 25-30 yards in light cover
- Two water retrieves of birds approximately 20-25 yards in light or open cover
- The dog is not required to deliver to hand but to cross a line designated by the judges.
An Alternative Field Qualification Form must be completed and submitted to Records to record a field test pass from organizations running tests utilizing established rules other than NSDTRC (USA). CLICK HERE to download the Alternate Field Qualification Form. (PDF)
April 2003 - The Board approved the continuation of the NSDTRC (USA) Club Championship.
